At POA we are proud to announce the recipients of the 2025 Medical Nutrition Scholarship as Lina-Josefine Gruhn and Hanna Storz, who will each receive:

• A grant of up to €2,500 to support their studies or training courses.
• A technology package valued at up to €2,000 to assist with digital learning.

The POA Pharma Medical Nutrition Scholarship, established by POA Pharma’s parent company, Galen Ltd, successfully ran for its third year and was available to both German and Austrian applicants. The scholarship aims to empower those living with metabolic conditions such as Phenylketonuria (PKU) and Tyrosinemia (TYR). By alleviating financial barriers, the scholarship enables recipients to pursue further education, training, or apprenticeships while managing the unique challenges of their condition, helping them stay focused on achieving their personal and career goals.

Meet the 2025 Scholarship Recipients

Lina-Josefine Gruhn, who is studying general and digital forensics, shared:

“PKU brings with it many limitations – in everyday life, in my studies and in fulfilling big dreams. For example, I had to give up my childhood dream of a career in the police force – but that didn’t stop me from pursuing my goal in a different way.

Now I’m studying general and digital forensics, I’m involved in the university’s racing team, and I stay disciplined and focused through sport. I see the scholarship as a great opportunity to take my education to the next level – with the aim of later contributing actively to solving complex cases in forensics. Every bit of support brings me a step closer to my dream of putting knowledge into practice responsibly.”

Hanna Storz, who is pursuing her passion for digital media, added:

“Growing up with PKU has shown me how important it is to persevere and find your own way. The scholarship gives me the opportunity to focus fully on my goals during my studies and to further develop my passion for digital media.

I want to use it to develop content and ideas that show how digital media connects people, initiates positive change and how challenges can be turned into opportunities.”
